Traci, now we all want to know what company you work for....

sundancer 03-09-2009 12:21 PM

Oh right...
I work for the Bigfork Bay Cotton Company.
I didn't know if it was against the rules to say.
I want to be respectful and all.
Have you ever made any of our patterns?

Gorgeous patterns!! I haven't done a lot of applique but I did find a couple I'd like to try -- I think the Chickadee pattern will be first :-) :-)

Welcome from NY State. :D

sundancer 03-09-2009 12:35 PM

Yes Chickadee Dreams is one of my favorite quilts.
The artists name is Ty Livingston.
He is a painter who lives in MIles City, MT.
He cannot believe how much the quilters love to make his designs.
They make me so happy.
I have several of his original paintings.
You can find his work on eBay.
I hope you do create the chickadee as he is really super easy.
You just trace cut and iron.
If you do make him, will you send me a photo?

sundancer 03-09-2009 12:35 PM

Thak-you!
What quilt shop do you shop in NY State?

I shop at Barons Fabrics in Camarillo, Fabric Well in Oxnard (which is closing in 2 weeks) Quilt Ventura in Ventura, Cotton & Chocolate in Thousand Oaks and Quilters Studio in Newbury Park. I also have several shops that I frequent when in those town too. I don't shop at JoAnns except to buy notions. I am fortunate that I have a lot of choices in shops to go to.
I have not heard of your pattern co, When I get home from work I will check out your link. If they are a lot of applique, I probably don't have any of those, I am not big into applique.

Everyone is so lovely here!
And from all over the country too!
I would love to hear where everyone's favorite quilt shop is!

Jim's Gem 03-09-2009 03:23 PM

Just took a look at your patterns. They are beautiful. I have seen several of the wildlife ones, the horses, bison, wolf - love the wolf. Maybe I will have to try a couple of those someday.

I just printed up your free pattern on the site. Thanks!!

Welcome, Traci. I'm in Honolulu but was raised in Missoula. Will be going there in June to catch up with my aunt and we're planning to shop-hop for several days. Can hardly wait! (My first boyfriend was from Bigfork many long years ago.)

Am from Montana and now in Oklahoma. I visit this site all the time and nice to hear for someone from home. Don't get me wrong we love it here and am in a wonderful quilting group. We ladies have lots of fun and go on quilt retreats at least once a year. Last year Kansas and this year here in Oklahoma.
