Hi! I'm Molly and I'm new to quilting. I like to dabble in anything crafty, and especially love to knit. I'm a pretty inexperienced sewer--I can hem pants and sew a straight line...and that's about it!

My inexperience did not stop me from volunteering to make a baby clothes quilt for my best friend's daughter! It is now turning into quite a mess. I couldn't just sew a few squares together and keep it simple...so, yikes! Now I have pieces in rough quilt configuration on my dining room table. I'm kind of concerned that the few squares I've sewn together are not quite square and not quite the same size.

So, I'm here to figure out how to save this thing and even like it when I am done! I'm going to take some pictures and share my "challenge" a bit later!

Welcome from Texas. I volunteed to make a quilt out of baby clothes for a friend of my son. I swore I would never do it again. As many mistakes as I found, the mother loved it. Believe me, no one will notice the mistakes but you and they will love it for what it represents.

Hello and Welcome from Northern Indiana ! Glad you joined us

If you can sew a straight line you can quilt

And the old sewing for guys applies to quilting also... Measure twice , cut once  It can be fixed , just may take some extra steps

Your quilt blocks are lovely. Sorry posted on wrong page.

Thank you, Ann Clare! These clothes belonged to my goddaughter and I can still remember the playsuits, pj's and tops they came from, so I enjoy handling them. The sewing together is the scary part!
