My real name is Cheryl. We were born in WY but got to TX as fast as we could! LOL
I've been reading your board for quite awhile and finally decided to join. Have sewn for 48 years. Currently own a Centennial Singer Featherweight (willed to me by my Aunt), my paternal Grandmother's 1893 Singer treadle, a Pfaff, Brother Embroidery, and an Elna serger. I've been doing research and hope to find a Pre-Loved HQ 18 Avante. Hubs retired a year ago this coming Friday, YEA! Absolutely LOVE having him home! Looking forward to getting to know Y'All! Years ago we lived in the country just outside a little town east of Dallas when the kids were small. I was a stressed out stay at home Mom and our Pastor's wife encouraged me to enroll the little ones in a Mother's day out program so I could have a break. I found these ladies that hand quilted other peoples quilts at the Odd Fellows hall. They welcomed me with open arms and let me learn to hand quilt! What a PRECIOUS group of ladies! Most all were in their 60's and 70's then. It is now 24 years later. I imagine most have passed on. I think of them often! What fond memories! Cheryl |
