Hello from The Netherlands

Hi,
My name is Megan and I am 24 years old. Six years ago I started quilting. My first quilt was trip around the world. I made the quilt on a singer sewing machine I inherit it from my grandmother. Nowadays I have a Bernina sewing machine and I love it. The singer machine couldnt sew more than two fabrics together so I had to change. I have learned a lot from the videos from quilt in a day from Eleanor Burns. My mother makes also quilts and it is a fun to share such a hobby as quilting. We have different interest in quilt making and colors. I like modern quilts and a lot of bright colors. She likes greens and pinks. More English style. My mother is making a Dear Jane right now. We visit every now and then a quilt show and sometimes we make together a quilt. I call it duoquilts or duoprojects. Forgive me for my English. It is not my native language. Welcome from the MidWest (USA).
It's nice that you share a hobby with your mother. And your quilts are beautiful. There are members from all over the world so don't worry about your English. We can understand you perfectly and if someone writes something you don't understand, just ask someone to explain it. I can only speak and write English and I greatly admire anyone who can speak and write in other languages. My oldest speaks several languages. I think he gets that from my father who could speak several languages which were English, Cherokee, Spanish and German. |
Warmest of welcomes from Massachusetts. Your quilts are beautiful and I love that you are sharing time with your Mother, quilting. I have only been quilting since I retired 6 years ago, but love it. I have found tremendous support here on this board. Feel free to ask questions and share your work. Your English is very understandable. Keep up the good work!

Your quilts are great! I am a lot older than you and have lost the sewing partner that I had with my Mother. Treasure every moment you have with your Mother. Sounds like you are lucky to have an experience very similar to the one I enjoyed for many years!! Welcome from a Texas farm!!

Your English, by the way, is fantastic! I can only speak English so I always admire those that can speak a second language, especially when they speak or write it as well as you do.

welcome from down South in Louisiana. Don't worry about your English, it's amazing how the human brains already knows what you're trying to write, even if spelled incorrectly. Mine is horrible. I would tell my gifted daughter who speaks many to keep it simple to me. Mostly words with 4 to 5 letters.
