Hi, Holly, and welcome to the board from Iowa. There are a plethora of free patterns on the web on many, many sites (sigh). Just search for free quilt patterns and sit back and enjoy the selections available to you. You will build a stash shortly (smile) and this board will be a fun and educational place for you to hang out and learn. Again, welcome and enjoy the ride.

Hello Holly, and welcome from New Jersey.
"quilterscache.com" is a neat website with a variety of quilt blocks, with instructions to construct. As far as building a stash, it will come naturally. When I shop for fabric, I'm like a kid in a candy store, I want one of each. I've been making quilts for 12 years, my advice would be to buy fabric needed for the project your working on. Otherwise, you'll end up with more fabric than you'll ever use in your lifetime. |

Hello All - I can't believe all of the wonderful welcomes I've received in just a few days since joining this marvelous group. Thank you all for making this newbie quilter feel so welcome. And, thanks, too, for the tips on acquiring the start of my stash and for the great pattern Websites. BTW, this is my very first quilted piece - the wall hanging I made in my 6-week quilting class. Hugs, Holly
