Hello from North Carolina!

Well, I never thought that I would get into quilting because I always imagined that I did not have enough patience to work with all of those little pieces. Surprise surprise! I am almost finished with my first ever quilt (lap quilt) and have fallen in love with the whole process :-). So many things to learn, so many beautiful fabrics to work with, so many wonderful people who share information and encouragement. Thank you for this site!

Tea1672, you have found a glorious group of quilters to encourage, teach and laugh with. Welcome to the Quilting Board. If you haven't already, wander around the site and explore what is here for you. You can always ask anything about quilting or life in general without fear. We have all been newbies and are all passionate about using little pieces of fabric to create beauty, fun and warmth.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan. Your excitement is shared by each of us who felt this same thing after finishing our first quilt. This art form is shared by each of us. There is so much to learn. After more than 30 years I am still learning and having fun. I am so glad you are joining us here. Jump right in and join all the fun.

Iceblossom 07-16-2020 05:02 AM

We are so glad to have you join us here. Some of us just appreciate the process of cutting up perfectly fine fabric to make other things and take to it more than others!

The internet is such a marvelous resource, I started before the internet, before rotary cutters even and had to learn so many hard lessons. If I can help someone avoid my mistakes or recover from their own, it's a good day.

So share your successes as well as your problems. We are here for both sides.

Here's a big howdy from Texas. Hope you enjoy it here & really, really enjoy quilting for the rest of your life. We are here to help & would love to see a picture of that first quilt.

Welcome from Southern California. After making clothes for many years, I discovered quilting, the creativity, the fabrics, all the things you "need," and the companionship of people who enjoy the same things. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you for your kind welcome.

I am just beginning to find out what a wonderful group of people quilters are. Especially at this point in time, while pretty much sheltering at home, it is refreshing to have this creative outlet and find a caring community.

Welcome to the QB, you’re gonna fit right in with the rest of us quilting junkies. It is easy to get addicted to this craft. Looking forward to seeing some of your projects.

I can only imagine the treasure trove of quilting stores you might have in Winston Salem! I’m in rural NC... beautiful quiet countryside....but gotta drive to get to a quilt shop

I am already seeing early signs of addiction! Any excuse to go somewhere where they sell fabric is a good excuse! Oh my! And the online stores...

Welcome from Maine. I sure hope someone warned you ahead of time as to how addicting quilting is. It is so much fun, rewarding, and a great way to meet new people, but there are always new fabric lines and gadgets just waiting for you. I absolutely am addicted and love creating and I sure hope you enjoy it as much as everyone else on here does. Glad you found us, and we love pictures 😁
