Hi,
I've been lurking on this board for weeks and finally decided to join. I've been sewing since I was 14. Mostly garment sewing. I got into quilting in a big way after I retired from nursing. My goal is to make a quilt for all our kids, grandkids, and greats. My husband has 6 kids, 15 grands, and 10 greats with 2 more on the way. I have 2 kids and 12 grandkids. Total of 47. The greats get a crib quilt at birth. They are done. And I have 20 of the rest finished. I've drifted more to a landscape type of quilt. I love pictorial quilts. Could spend hours looking at quilts online and often do so. I feel as if I know most of you by reading your introductions and your posts. You sound like a busy bunch of quilters. |
Hi and welcome from the South Plains of Texas. Glad to have you with us. Don't know when you find time to compute with so many quilts to get done :) :)

Welcome from Oklahoma!! We would love to see pictures of your quilts!

How about this link, if I do it right. I don't have the 9 quilts I have made this year on my webshots yet. I need to finish the bindings and then they will be ready to gift.

Hello from Missouri....Hope you make lots of friends and have a great time here!

Well, I really miscounted. There are only 8 great grandkids with 2 on the way. Then, three of hubby's grandkids have never visited him and don't communicate with anyone in the family except their father at times. Sad, especially since the rest of his grandkids just love him to pieces. So I don't feel the necessity to make something for them. He has never met two of those.
So that brings the total down somewhat. So by my new calculation, I have 13 left to make. Three will have to be next year for sure as they will be graduation quilts. I tend to sew in spurts. I'll get going and sew for days, then stop for several more days. Then I will gradually get back to the machine. I work better under pressure of a deadline. Things come together better and quicker that way. |
Welcome from VA.

Welcome aboard
I love to make baby quilts, most are applique. Check out my site http://www.appliquequiltdesigns.com for some baby quilt ideas. I have 5 quilts already to go, with patterns and instructions, and two more I'm working on. One is a disappearing nine-patch and the other is a dinosaur quilt. Both should be on my site by the end of the month. |
