Hi: I'm a beginning quilter so I want to thank all of you pros in advance for answering the many questions I know I will have. I appreciate how quilting is a passion for some people-it is such an artform.

I do not belong to a quilting guild. I just picked up quilting again and my ADD will probably have me on another topic altogether in a few days. I would love to get together with some local ladies and quilt, tho. That sounds like fun as you all seem to be a hecka nice group of ladies.

Minnesota is BEAUTIFUL in the summertime. I had the privilege of spending two weeks in Eden Prairie last summer and it was magical. We are so used to the hot/dry/brown out here in the summer. I fell in love! Of course, I haven't spent a winter there. I hear it can be pretty fierce.

Yes, the winters here can be pretty cold...and long!!! However, I find that having never liked winters on the coast, (you can't keep the damp out...no matter how many layers you wear), I am actually enjoying winter here. It is such a dry cold.... snow can be swept off the steps, no shovel needed. Well...unless we get a good wind blowing and then the drifts need a shovel. ;)
