I’ve been making bed and lap quilts for about 10 years. In particular, I really enjoy hand piecing and large stitch hand quilting. And while all quilts are unique, my greatest pleasure is designing a personal scene on the backside. My quilts have been for family and friends to this point so I know all the recipients and have access to their stories.
I attached two completed recently. The beach scene was for my daughter’s second marriage which brought two families together. The scene was based on a photo from their trip to the shore the summer before. The second a baby blanket for my best friend’s daughter’s first baby.. a boy. That’s their dog looking on from the piers.

I am always in awe of hand quilters because I have essentially no skill in any of those arts. I can turn and finish my binding by hand and that's about it.

Did I get you correctly and those are your backs??!!?

yes. The fronts are the traditional quilt side. They can show quilt side and then switch it up when they want a change.
