Hello from NW Ohio!
Hello everyone!!! :) I am a homeschooling mother of 4, married to an amazing man, and living on our mini hobby farm with a hyper Beagle puppy, 2 Belgian draft horses, and 29 chickens!
I've been quilting off and on for about 15 years (more off than on until the last couple years). I have always had an obsession for fabrics! I sew on my Bernina Activa 130 and hoping to upgrade soon. I'm looking at the Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 (I know Bernina is supposedly the best, but I am looking for more features and can't afford that model of Bernina, lol). I would appreciate any info/advice you have on that topic. I also just bought a Featherweight 221 last week. It's in the shop now, getting tuned-up, and I can not wait to get it back and play with it! And then yesterday, my husband and I happened to find a singer treadle. I have been dying to find both of these machines for years and am thrilled to finally collect them. That is how I found this site... in trying to find out more information on the model we have just purchased. Looking forward to getting to know all of you! |

Hi from Ohio!

Welcome from North Texas! We have alot in common! I'm also a homeschooling mom of 4 and live on 5 acres with dogs, cats, horses, and eventually chickens, and whatever else my hubby decides we need...we've only been here a year and still have alot of work to do on the property.
Come on over to the vintage board and share some pics of your treasures with us. There are lots of people with a ton of knowledge on these beautiful machines, and I'm sure between them all your questions can be answered. A word of warning...once you get your hands on one of these antique machines you'll be hooked. I started with one in June of last year and I now have close to 80. I also use new machines. I have a 20 yr old Bernina that I thought was the best thing I'd ever sewn on, then "upgraded" to a used Viking Designer I. Hubby bought me a Viking Ruby about 8 months ago and I love it. I haven't sewn a stitch on it for myself yet, and I mostly use it for embroidery, and my vintage machines do my personal work. |
Welcome from Canton, GA. Your horse is gorgeous.
