I agree, start small. Is there any way to take a beginner class somewhere?? It's certainly not the only option, just my own experience. There are tons of things you can learn here. I've been looking around, I saw online a store in Manhattan that has classes but not sure about the cost. Our Michaels really focuses on those wilton cakes. My sister in NC tells me about all these great craft stores an i'm so jealous! She does almost everything but quilting, so i'm gonna make that my department.
