Hi Everyone! I've been lurking for some time and finally decided to join. I'm a confessed fabric addict and I love to quilt, but have far too little time. I work full time and DH and I farm also and when people ask how I find time to quilt my answer is I quilt instead of cleaning house! I love all the posts I've seen on this board. I buy mostly over the internet since any LQS is more than an hour away. My friends don't quilt ... they just get a glazed look on their face as I gush over fabric and patterns. It's nice to have someplace to chat where people actually understand how one can spend an hour in a fabric store and still be rushed :!: Geez, I could spend an entire afternoon and an entire paycheck.

I started quilting about 8 years ago. I machine quilt on a home sewing machine as I don't have the time or patience to hand quilt or applique. I am just starting to learn free-motion quilting and need LOTS of practice. I love seeing eveyone's pictures. I especially loved the pics of everyone stashes ... I now have stash envy.

I look forward to meeting everyone and making new friends.

Welcome from another fabric addict. I just joined here yesterday. I wouldn't be able to live if my LQS was an hour away! My hubby would love it though. ;-)

Welcome from Ontario! I know the glazed look... it's common! that's why I like it here so much... I'm sure you will too!
What do you have on your farm? Crops or animals or both or different stuff?

Welcome from Souther California. This is a great place!!! I am an admitted fabraholic. I'm sure that my husband wished that a quilt store was far away, but alas, I have 9 places in which to shop for fabrics within a 15 min drive, 3 of those are Joanns.

Welcome from Ontario! Im a newbie to quilting and the board but so far I love both! You'll love it here. Some many nice people with tons of advice and beautiful work :)
I dont have a lot of time either but I admit to skipping things here and there for some well deserved "me" time with the sewing machine :)

Welcome from another Southern Californian! I know what you mean about the glazed look your non-quilting friends get! Mine are pretty cool, though--they let me drag them to quilt shows!

Welcome, I'm from Columbus OH. I'm fairly new to quilting too. This board has been a wealth of useful info from friendly folks. Very encouraging! Where about in Ohio are you from? (yes everybody, the last sentence is some form of English!! perhaps an Ohio dialect??)

gcathie, Cadiz is the closest town to where I live and with gas prices being what they are I guess I'll keep shopping on the net. Actually, I need to stop shopping for a while and spend more quality time with my machines.

Hi From So. Cal.

Welcome to the Quilting Board. I am also a new member. I have found the others here to be very helpful. I do applique and hand quilting, I'm not very good on a sewing machine, and I like to be able to work on my quilting any place.
