How cool! I loved it up there!!! I am trying to remember if it was Whizbang Road that went down to Burbank. I thought that was such a funny name for a road!! :D

You would be right. If you remember Carter Nine,I live in an old oilpatch house moved to my location many years ago. I have lived here 25 years. When we bought it it was only 900 sguare feet, but my DH had a vision and it's a little bigger now. But i love it because of it's history. What brought you to Shidler?

mgshaw 02-23-2009 08:25 PM

My DH worked for Belco out of Dewey at the time and we moved up there to be closer to his job. We only lived there for two years.
We did drive through Carter Nine several times. We used to drive around all the time just sight seeing. That open range up in that area is just so cool, you can almost feel like you are back in the old west!

Hello from the Panhandle of Oklahoma. Where the wind blows and right now the tumble weeds just keep going from one side of the yard to the other.
I live in Guymon which is right in the middle of the Panhandle. You can drive 40 miles north and be in Kansas, 30 miles south and be in Texas.
I learned to quilt from my Grandmother, but really didn't get serious about it until about 20 years ago. I enjoy it so much and love to see what I can come up with.
I love all ideas I've seen here, and the encouragement I got yesterday with a quilt I've had some problems with.
I really enjoy seeing what the rest of you are doing.

Welcome from central part of Indiana, GammySue. I kinda like cowgirl things too. When I was little I thought my Grandpa was a cowboy (mom's dad, lived in Utah) he was really a cook for sheep herding outfit. I liked my cowboy hat and 6 shooters...lol think I will post some pictures to share in chit chat. :D
