My name is Edie. I am new at sewing and found this forum from random searches. I could spend hours just browsing the pictures here (and have). Amazing work out there.

I have made one quilt in my life, it was hand stitched and hand quilted using a large hoop... I do not have it any longer, my ex has it. :(

It was my own design... loosely based on one I had seen somewhere. (don't remember where, I think it was called compass or something like that), it was back in the late 90's.

One day I would like to try to make another using my sewing machine, don't think my fingers could take all that hand sewing and quilting again.

Hi from Southern Oregon. Was it called a Mariner's Compass? Those are so neat. I hope one day to make one myself.

Airwick I just did a search for Mariner's Compass quilts and nope, was not that. (been a long time, so I might even have the name incorrect)... whatever it was I modified it quite a bit.
