Hello from Pittsburgh
 

Hi, I'm Debbie. I'm a 56 year old sewer who recently fell in love with quilting. I've been sewing since I was about 10 years old but quilting had never grabbed my interest until maybe 2 years ago when I saw a modern quilt in person. I was in awe of all the beautiful stitching and the abstract of the designs. In a little over a year, I've completed 6 quilts. None larger than a baby quilt but I did recently get myself a mega quilter and am working on a full size quilt. I also made myself a mid arm machine from an old darning machine because I simply couldn't make my home machine master free motion quilting.

I didn't know the Quilting Board existed until last week. I have a small blog and someone on the board had found one of my posts and I was getting hundreds of hits a day from the Quilting Board. How fun this board looks. I'm so excited to join and am grateful I will have somewhere to ask questions about issues I encounter.

Although I don't know how much quilting knowledge I can provide to the more experienced quilter, I am an experienced seamstress and embroiderer. I even had my own embroidery shop for years so if anyone has embroidery questions, feel free to ask me.

Welcome from Oklahoma. It's funny how it hits you suddenly. I started in 1992 just out of the blue. Saw some in a museum in Vermont and thought "I want to do that".
