I am not new to quilting, but new to posting about it. I am working on 4-5 projects at once and it is good to see I am not alone.
Speaking of alone, I went to a quilt show locally on Saturday and couldn't find one person to go with me, so I went alone! It was WONDERFUL. I found I could linger and piddle. I took pictures of the 2 quilts that really touched me, and discovered how very similar they were. (samplers, retro fabric and traditional patterns---hand quilted!
I found I could talk myself out of buying fat quarters, and go through every single one of the patterns without feeling rushed or bored.
Then I went home exhausted and called a couple of girlfriends and gloated about what they had missed-win/win!
I spent all last night (3 hours+) going through a giant bag of 1 1/2 squares of fabric I recently bought at a yard sale and sorting them into colors and using zip lock bags to store them. I even got my husband involved, telling him it was like a jigsaw puzzle.
I need some patterns for 1/12 squares that are random colors.

Oh, google Bonnie Hunter and take a look at her books on scraps....there are a lot of patterns that are so pretty, expecially one with 1-1/2 inch blocks made into trees!

It is surprising that sometimes the best company to keep is with yourself, hey? (not all the time though!)

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!
Some of the members on this board have made Postage Stamp quilts using 1 1/2" squares. Go to the top of the page and under Search put in postage stamp quilts and see if this is something you're interested in doing.

Hi! I'm Donna Jo. I am relatively new to quilting. I am about to complete my sixth quilt. I have learned that I always learn a new shortcut or technique when I attend classes and\or talk to quilters. I am interested in all the information you can share with a very interested beginner.
