Hi everyone, my name is Teresa Fusco, a quilter for over 40 years, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and living in Berks County PA. I teach quilting at the local quilt shop, machine quilt for other quilt artist and occasionally show my work in one women shows. My children are grown 29 & 25, I am single and am able to get up and go whenever I want, loving it, all quilt related of course! My life has always revolved around quilting, it is my passion. I am working on (5) new quilts at the moment - all challanging. To relieve some of the stresses of getting my quilting finished, I take jewlery making classes and watercolor classes. I find that I am a better quiltmaker then anything else. I am looking forward to spending time with all of you on the Internet!

Teresa 54 01-27-2010 09:24 AM

Oh, I would applique something over the black permanent marker on the quilt- don't give up, everything is selvageable, I learned that in water color class!

Welcome from North Central PA. I am only about 2 hours from you. Was just there in November. Found a huge Joanns and a Mennonite quilt shop just near the turn pike. Can't remember the name. Lots of great fabric. Found an awesome selection of flannels. Maybe we can meet sometime and you can introduce me to some more LQS's.

NorBanaquilts 01-29-2010 05:34 AM

Teresa, I hoping to go to Wooden Bridge tomorrow. Do you ever go there?

QuiltingGrannie 01-29-2010 05:42 AM

Hello from a former Berks Countyian. I lived in Hamburg then Reading from 1972 - 1990. What part of Reading do you live? It has changed a lot since 1990! I was up there about 18 months ago. I live in TN now but have lots of memories. Do you ever shop at Hayloft quilt shop in Morgantown?

mic-pa 01-29-2010 05:57 AM

Hi, from another Pa. gal. I live in the NE. I have been to Wooden Bridge and Hayloft quilt shop many times. Love to take road trips down that way. Welcome

Souders in Muddy Creek, I had a horrible time there with fabric I bought, I don't shop there any more, they refused to take back the 12 yds. I bought. It was flawed.
all the fabric I purchased there was flawed. I travel alot and teach and I never recommend anything but quiltshops and trade shows.
I only buy the better quality fabrics from quilt shops. Its just not worth the aggravation to shop in barns etc. I like to keep the quilt shops in business.

Teresa 54 01-29-2010 06:07 AM

I have never been there, but I know quilters who do and really like it. Its hard for me to go to another quilt shop when the Quilters Palette already has everything and will get whatever I want and it is only 8 min. from my house. Tonight is Friday night Sewathon! I will be there tilll 10PM

Weather permitting we are coming to PA (Walnutport) next weekend for a quick trip to see the kids and grandkids. I want to 'stop' by Hayloft to see their fabrics and be comfortable ordering from them online. It will be a quick trip with lots going on. Eastern Sportsman show in Harrisburg, then watching NASCAR Sat night and then superbowl on Sun. Mon is a quick visit to other d-i-l and granddaughter (Son is in the Army and on his way to Haiti) Then a stop at Hayloft and then headed home.

WHEW --- I'm tired and we haven't left yet!

Teresa 54 01-29-2010 06:09 AM

Hi mic pa, I only go to the hay loft when I am looking for something older, maybe once or twice a year. I do go there to meet other quilters to pick up quilts because it is centrally located. Let me know when you go, I can meet you! only 1/2 hour from my house.

LOL! I work a real job Mon- Fri, I can only meet on the weekends

QuiltingGrannie 01-29-2010 06:31 AM

I won't have much time to meet anyone. I'll be taking my husband shopping with me...... pray! Not sure how he will be. I do know he wants me to make him (us) a queen size southwestern quilt, so I'm hoping to have his input on what fabrics he likes.

Yep, that was the name of it. It's a shame you had a flaw in such a large purchase of material. They should have made it right. I got some really nice material and found no flaws, guess I was lucky.
