Hello my name is Avri...I recently moved to the state and on Saturday met some amazing people. One of them invited me to drive down with her to Oregon for a Quilting get together...
I believe I am a crafty person spending time with scrapbooking, jewelry making, sewing, crocheting and painting ceramics to name a few...I had always been interested in learning to quilt but never knew anyone that quilted to show me the ropes..

I had nothing to show at the social but met many great ladies from this Board and seeing all their beautiful projects have definately put the bug in me and I am excited to begin work on my first quilt. LadyGen thank you for a fantastic time yesterday and look forward to many evenings quilting with you and passing the time with a new friend as we wait for our hubbies to be with us..

hey there from Michigan!

here is what you need to get started:
1.cutting mat: 12 x 18 is a good starting size. (it needs to be stored flat!)
2. Rotary cutter:45mm is what i started out with, still have it, and a few others.
3. O'lipfa Ruler With Lip Edge-18"X5" has a lip on the edge..helps with lining it up and keeping it steady.

these are just my suggestions..others need to chime in and give thier suggestions!

Welcome from East Texas. If you can do all of that then quilting will be a walk in the park.

Hi Avri, we are almost neighbors. I am in Sequim and just joined today. Do you ever go to SewFun at Quality Sewing in Silverdale? I go to the 10 a.m. session and would love to meet you if you ever attend.

If I can be of any help in getting you started with your quilting, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Unfortunately I do not have a reliable vehicle to get around. Otherwise I would love to check out the sewing thing in Silverdale. We will have to get together.

Hi Avri & Chigger,
My name is Pat & I live out above Hood Canal. I can't believe I'm finding 2 people living so close to me. I'm actually in Ariz. right now (I'm a Snowbird) but will be returning home in a month. I'm so happy to find avid quilters at home. I'm sure you've both been to the quilt shop in Poulsbo.
Great to meet you both.
