Hi, I have lurked here for awhile, so I've been around, just not visible. If anyone has read my sig, I am a graphic designer, and a 4th generation artist, so I don't really use patterns per-se, just let the fabric move my heart and tell me where to go... I don't think I could follow a traditional pattern, i'm afraid I'd hate my own work.

I am a mom of 4, grandma of 2.3 (next grandbaby due in May '11), son is USMC, have a wonderfully patient and understanding husband. I work from home, have two small businesses that blessedly pay the bills and keep us happy. I raise bearded dragons, rescue them really, so don't have the traditional "furries" anymore... but the dragons are just like a scaley/spikey dog or cat! I actually make and sell pet blankies & snuggies for exotics (like iguanas, bearded dragons, etc). Hey, anything to keep the fabric comin'!

Anyway, not sure how it ranks with everyone else's work because they aren't traditional quilts, but here is some of my work:

quick panel quilt gift for 5th grade teacher, signed by all students in class (they signed the state they did their reports on for geography)

one of my first quilts ever, a baby quilt for a friend (left) and my special Mickey design for my cousins' grandson (she suffers depression badly, so I am teaching her to craft)

Our "moment of insanity" with VeggieTales fabric, pretty loud, but we use it at the camper and lake, and one of two matching blankies I made my daughter and her best friend years ago (they could have their matching blankies for sleepovers)

A "class quilt" (on the left) for my son's 3rd grade teacher - they were studying how older generations recycled and reused, out of necessity, and they had to make a paper quilt. I offered to help make a real one, and each child did a square (we chose Charlotte's Web theme) then gifted it to the teacher on the last day of school, on the right is my son working on his Pokemon masterpiece 300,000K embroidery stitches, he designed quilt and picked out fabrics.

the interior of a Cle Indians quilt I did for my dad, I never took a final pic! I added a gorgeous red batik outer sashing, and FM quilted the logo into the border, coupled with bats and balls

I agree wholeheartedly. I love that you quilt with kids. I did one with my class of 4th graders for our principal's 50th birthday several years ago. She kept it hanging in her office until she retired. It was so much fun to work with the kids. They would make up excuses to need to go to the office so they could look at it hanging there.
