Hello from South Bend, IN

Just joined the Quilting Board. So glad I found you all. I would like to ask a question regarding batting. I'm thinking about ordering some precut 2 1/2" batting for jelly roll quilts. I'd love anyone's opinion that has used this batting to let me know how you like it and have you had any problems using it. Thanks in advance.

Howdy Gates, glad to heave you aboard.

I don't deal with precuts much myself but I do a lot of scrap cutting. Typically when I've heard about the batting like this it is for use with the rugs and bowls more than a quilt -- is that your plan for it?

Welcome from Maine. I have used the precut bosal 2.5 inch batting, no issues with it. I have a friend that found on Amazon the precut 21/4 inch and loves it. So I don't think you can go wrong using either one. I have made several jelly roll rugs, so I have built my skills and have switched to cutting my own 2.5 inch batting now.

Welcome from Southern Indiana! Someone will answer your question...the board is great for that!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Are you making a jelly roll quilt or rug? Jelly roll rugs can use the precut batting strips.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! I have never used the pre-cut batting strips. Sounds interesting though. I would like to hear more about your experience if you do decide to use it. As you can see already. There is always someone here who can share an answer to a question. Welcome aboard.
