Hi there!
I've been browsing the quilting board for a few weeks. Love this place and especially love the tutorials here on the site. I'm a married mom of 3. I Home School 2 of my children. I've been quilting since 2003 when my husband had cancer and his mom taught me to sew. I have loved it from the start. I am in hopes of meeting some others from SC to meet up with sometimes. Looking to make lots of quilting friends here. Thanks for a wonderful site to come to! Dixieldy |

Wow SCGreatGran, we are only 30 minutes away from each other. I haven't been here long and I'm already finding people from my area. How cool is that? Are you with a Guild? I belong to one in Charleston.

Hi Dixie, Have you been to the People, Places & Quilts shop yet? We have a branch here in Summerville, and it's one of the nicest shops I've visited ; wonderful people and so many things and fabrics to tempt you. :) Haven't joined a guild so far, mainly have been just winging it alone so far, since some health problems limit transporation. Hi SCGreatGran- Yes, I've been to People, Places and Quilts many many times. I go to the branch in Summerville, although I know they have a store downtown Charleston as well. That one is too far for me really. I belong to the Cobblestone Quilters Guild out of Charleston. It's an hours drive but I enjoy it and wanted to join one. Didn't have one close to me that I found anyway.
People, Places and Quilts is a very nice quilt shop. I really love going there. My favorite shop in the world though is MaryJo's Cloth Store in Gastonia, NC. I'm sure you have heard of it, or been yourself. Sorry to hear about your medical problems. Hope it doesn't keep you from quilting. Saying a prayer for ya. |
Great to have you here !!
