I am a new member from Kansas and so excited by all of the things that I have been seeing and reading on the site! I love quilts and quilting. I love to make the tops but I HATE the quilting part! :( I am actually looking for someone to do the quilting for me! My mother lives in Kentucky and likes the quilting part so her and I have been kind of talking about a partnership! haha I would really like to find someone close by that machine quilts though. Who knows!

Welcome from Washington State. You're gonna love it here! I'm with you...I prefer to piecing rather than the quilting part, but I'm trying to force myself to learn and get some of my UFO's done! Hope to see some pictures of your projects!

Hello, and welcome from Missouri! I like the piecing part, and hand quilting! I quilt with a group at church, so I can get them done!

Greetings from Northern CA. Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if you and Mom could trade the chores. You'd be paying a lot for shipping back and forth.

Hi and welcome. I have to send all my tops to a quilter, would so like to be able to buy a machine that would work for quilting.

dajefu 11-11-2009 01:03 PM

I sooo wish I could afford one of those wonderful machines! I haven't found a local person to do the quilting for me..... I have been watching so many of the quilting shows and I am so jealous! I love this site! So many nice people and soooooo many wonderful pictures and hints. Thanks!

Welcome from southern California. I have to say that I enjoy piecing the top together a lot more than the sandwiching and quilting!

Welcome from NE Alabama. Grab a cup of coffee or tea & sit & talk quilting with folks whose passion is quilting. They're some very knowledgeable folks here. Ask questions, post pics of your work, or make comments. Are you working on Christmas items? Happy quilting to you.

oksewglad 11-14-2009 05:16 PM

Hello and welcome from an Iowa girl    Are you looking for someone to machine or hand quilt your tops? Check with your LQS, they may know of both kinds. Also is there a senior citizens center in your area that has a group of quilters to hand quilt items? Good luck

dajefu 11-15-2009 06:26 AM

Wow I hadn't thought about those places! Thanks for the head jiggle! Tee Hee. I am so glad I joined this site!

Hi and welcome from Australia.

The basting is what I dislike the most but I won't have more than three projects on the go without quilting and binding one before starting anything new. Otherwise I wouldn't get them finished.
