Hello!
hello, I’m new to the whole forum experience, and a beginning quilter. I’ve been sewing for years mostly clothing and costumes for my kids and grandkids. I’m excited to be able to learn two new skills now!

Welcome & Howdy from Texas. Glad to have you here. Ask questions as there are so many great quilters with answers here. We love pictures & want to see your progress.
May I suggest that when you finish your very first quilt (or table runner, or pot holder) or what ever it is, don't throw it out. Keep it as you will be surprised how far you come in such a short amount of time. You're on your way to a wonderful hobby/journey. |
And we are glad to have you here -- look at you with a picture avatar and everything already!
I also came to quilting from a garment and costuming background, but I was a bit younger. I remember how impossibly tiny that 1/4" seam allowance seemed... you get used to it :) |

Welcome from sunny Southern California. Your background is the same as mine, and it gives you a head start on quilting. I think the main difference between clothing construction and quilting is the accuracy quilting requires. I think you'll love it!
