The beaches on the Gulf are clean and beautiful, ya'll come when you can! I've been lurking for a while thought I should say hello. Many different types of quilts and quilting appeal to me, I love seeing others' amazing creativity. I enter our "quilting world" with a huge sigh of relief some days. This seems to happen especially after watching the evening news, slogging through traffic, explaining something for the umpteenth time at school, or I feel everything tightening up from stress. I walk into my sewing room [slash guest and some storage room] and my whole self breathes a sigh of relief. One more thing, my Rays are winning!! Post season hopes are high in Tampa Bay!

If a Yankees fan can welcome you, then certainly this Red Sox fan can, too. Besides, I can understand the relaxation attributable to quilts/quilting/this board after a day of teaching. Best wishes for a great school year, even if I can't in all honesty say best wishes for the baseball season. Unless, of course, the Rays are in a playoff against the Yankees! :D

Welcome from NW Arkansas. I am a Tampa native, lived there during my childhood, adult years on and off and much of my family is still there. I visited the quilt guild there and found it to be a lovely group of ladies. Carol Doak was the guest speaker that day.

Hey, I lived in northern NJ for 19 1/2 years, and have an uncle who is an avid Yankees fan. Fortunately, though my sons were born in NJ and started out as Yankees fans, they graduated to being Red Sox fans. And I'll claim the uncle, even if he didn't...

Seriously, though, I'm glad to see some passionate baseball fan quilters. A couple of favorite quilts I saw more than 5 years ago at the Vermont Quilt Festival were baseball ones...
