Hello from Texas

Hi, I am a tiny-space kitchen-table quilter who's been moving from wonky to traditional. I am a frugalist who enjoys the creative challenge of making something from nothing. Right now I am trying to finish off all my UFO's by hand from when I used a machine so that I can dedicate my resources to EPP designs. I would love to hear what everyone else is doing.

Hello and welcome to the Board! I just finished quilting a top that I pieced a few years ago. I'm trying to get back into quilting after losing my husband to cancer. I have never tried EPP - would love to see some of your work.

Welcome aboard, WIPster! I'm a traditionalist; do everything by hand. Right now I'm working on a simple design using squares of 3 different sizes and black/grey/white/red as the color scheme. It will be a couch quilt (or cuddle quilt, or car quilt depending on which online quilting content creator you follow) for my oldest nephew and his family. I also have a scrappy hexy EPP started that has sort of gotten moved to the back burner for now. Both are still in the piecing stage. Looking forward to seeing your work.

I'm happy to say I was able to finish all my UFOs from starting back from 2015 to last month. I do have a new UFO, if you want to call it that, as I just finished piecing it last month. I'm also starting to work on my A Cog in a Wheel quilt pattern. I've had to switch out a couple fabrics so far as there were too many dark colors and very few lights. This is a man who is into metals, motorcycles, etc so I went for mainly fabrics that reminded you of silver, gold, copper and so on. I put 2.5 rows up on the design wall only because that's all I had of the sections cut. I didn't want to waste anymore fabrics than I have already by cutting all the triangles needed for this quilt. Now that I have an idea on how it's going to look, I'll cut the rest and start paper piecing the sections. There are 20 blocks with 8 paper pieced sections plus 12 inch blocks surrounding the blocks. Some have a snowball corner on them. I've switched out a little wit the pattern and added another fabric in a medium dark color for the border and binding and have made the 4 outer corner HST to save on the background fabric. Hopefully in a week or two, I'll have it all put together to show you. Have no idea how I'm going to quilt this beast.

Sending you a warm welcome from Delaware. I'm trying to use up accumulated stash. As fast as I sew, it doesn't seem to ever make dent.

Hello and welcome! I'm into frugal quilting stuff but My hand skills and attention are lacking -- but glad to have you here :)

One of the ladies in my (live) sewing group is getting into EPP but again -- not my strong suit, but I love seeing what other people can do.
