Hi everyone...my name is Vicki and I'm new to this forum stuff. I have no idea what I'm doing but I love quilting and love to see what everyone else creates. I'm just fascinated by all the beautiful quilts people dream up.

My last quilt was a Christmas present for my dad that I finished on Christmas eve. I know...I'm a procrastinator!! By the time it was finished I hated it...so much so that I forgot to take a picture. What a goober. Needless to say, he loved it. I guess that's all that matters.

I can't wait to learn even more about quilting. I love to see all the good tips.

I have 2 children and a wonderful husband who serves in the US Air Force. We have moved a lot in the past 15 years and currently live in Texas. I'm adjusting but it was the most difficult move to date.

I look forward to learning more about this forum stuff. LOL

Hello from Ft Leavenworth. This was our last move with the Army and then we retired here. Hope you like Texas. Where is your DH stationed??

vicki75 01-13-2010 07:46 PM

He is currently an instructor at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls. He really likes his job. How do you like Ft. Leavenworth?

We loved Ft Leavenworth and now enjoy Leavenworth but are still involved in many activities on the fort. How are you liking Wichita Falls? We drove through there once and remember it as relatively small town but that was 21 years ago so am sure it has changed some. :) FYI: Lots of great quilting shops in Texas not sure how many are near you though but lots on-line.

Welcome from Cypress, TX. I don't understand why your move to TX was difficult. 8-) All you have to remember is our four seasons: cool, warm, hot and hot as hell.   Oh, and never, ever drive the speed limit or below for your own safety. :!:

Well, we moved to Texas from Las Vegas....huge difference. And Wichita Falls isn't exactly the biggest city ever, but we're all adjusting and settling in. Just another part of being a military family....constant change and adjustment.

I do understand about the small town thing. They are a lovely place to visit, but growing up in a large city spoils you. I have only been to Las Vegas once "in the summer" and it made Texas summers feel a lot cooler. ""It's a DRY HEAT""
