I am new to this quilting board and excited to jump in. Since I travel the country, I have opportunities to visit many amazing quilt shops and find some unusual prints and batiks. Our motorhome will runneth over with great fabrics and lots of UFO's.

HI to everybody.. I have been reading this board for several month now.. love it! I am from hot NW Iowa..
Had a comment for Friday the 13th. I was born on a Friday.. Friday the 13th in October. Lots of things happen on the 13th.. lucky or good ones! My husband's sister-in-law's birthday is same day as mine.. only 5 years younger than me.. she was born on Friday the 13th also!
Will be sending pictures later.. once I figure out how to do it. I have 3 other sisters reading this Board also.. perhaps they will join now! Happy sewing!

Yes. I started it as a transportation quilt for son's bed when he was young (he's 29 now). One day my Mom called and said she had this quilt that I had started and all of the applique pieces were cut out, so did I want it? Well, of course I had to take my time machine and go back about 18 years. As I was thinking to myself, "Self, you have to have been crazy to start a totally hand appliqued and embroidered quilt for your first project, file it under UFO", my husband said to me that he sure thought that what be a nice quilt and he would love to have it. Gee, isn't that GREAT honey. So that's the story, it is totally handmade and quilted after 25+ years, and absolutely gorgeous.

top two rows. finished quilting everything except the top row

Hi there from Phoenix, AZ.

I have occassionally thought of relocating to another dry place .... but there are over 13 quilt stores in this area and I am only a few minutes from the largest quilting fabric store in the state!

Nothing else can come near this piece of quilting heaven.

If you get down this way, send a PM and we can get together.

Oops, did I forget to mention I do p.r. for www.quiltcamp.com and we have a quilt camp coming up at the end of January. We get a lot of out-of-state quilters. Hmm, maybe because Phoenix in January is beautiful?

Safe travels.

I must have missed your introduction. Welcome to the board, I know you will find some more projects for us to do. There are lots of talented folks here. I have been looking at the one block wonder. Some of the Rum Creek ladies want to learn how to do this, so I am going to learn it and show them. There is a good tutorial on this board.

Welcome from east Tennessee. Are you a fulltimer? We have a motorhome also. Just got back from 3 months in VT, and will go to FL this winter. We don't travel as much as we used to. It's part of getting old! I claim GA as home though I've lived in TN for the last 40 years. Thomasville will always be home to me!

Welcome on the board! You will learn plenty of stuff here. And, I do hope that you will enjoy it here. Plenty of wonderful people and advice.

Yes, and it's a long story. Almost finished with the hand quilting on the last row (the top row is not showing). Then I can bind it and give it to my husband. I have had the pattern sitting around since 1982 and forgot all about it until my Mom asked me if I still wanted it. I had already put a bunch of scraps with it and had the muslin, so I told her to send it to me. I'm sure you can tell from the pic which fabrics are that old. What started as a quilt for my 1 year old is now a quilt for husband (since my son is 29 and I already made him and his wife a queen size block of the month.

Yes, my husband works on the road. We usually winter in Macon, Ga and call it home. Love VT, spent 2 weeks in Essex Jct. Can live without the cost of living in Florida for the winter!
