Quiltingboard Forums - Hello from Utah!

I was directed over here by my friend mswordwiz, who told me how awesome the community is.

About myself... I'm Amber and I'm 24 years old. I've been sewing since I was nine when my dad bought me my first sewing machine for my birthday. I'm originally from Virginia, but I'm now living in Utah; my husband and I met online when I was 17, and I moved out here to be with him a few months after my 18th birthday.

We have two little girls, and we're planning to expand our family later on this year to include a third child. We also have a furbaby named Casey who is lab/beagle mix that we adopted this January from the humane society.

I actually started sewing with basic garment construction and repair; however it wasn't until my pregnancy with my oldest daughter when I was trying to find baby bedding to my liking and I was unable to that I started sewing blankets and the like. I made her bumpers, blanket -I really can't call it a quilt because it was blocks sewn together and onto a fleece rectangle- and a crib skirt. I've done only one 'real' quilt -even with applique!- however I have sewn three other baby bedding sets -blankets and bumpers- since then. I did quilt a sampler that's 18 by 18, mostly to test out wonky log cabins and paper pieced string blocks. I do have a few projects planned, but only one quilt currently being worked on.
