Hi, I'm really excited to get back to my creative side. I am an empty-nester and have taken over one of my son's bedroom as "MY SPACE". I love it. I am currently making a memory quilt for my sister who lost her son (my beloved nephew) to lymphoma at the tender age of 20 two years ago. This is my first quilt, but I have been sewing since I was 10. He had always inspired me to get back to my creative side and it is because of him that I also make jewelry. I do a lot of other crafts, but this is the most special item I will ever make in my life. Looking forward to sharing with all of you!!

Welcome from western NY.

I've lost my deluxe sewing quarters to #2 son. Don't suppose I'll ever get the space back...

Welcome from a Virginian born living in Washington. I am sorry to hear about your nephew. But what you are doing for your sister is priceless. I would like to volunteer to quilt your top for you when you are finished piecing it. I just lost my dad on Christmas Eve and then I quilted 82 quilt tops in his honor for American Heros and they helped me tremendously with the grief. So if I can lighted the grief you and your sister feel I would be quite honored.

Thank you,
Sherryl

Welcome from western New York state! I'm sorry to hear about your nephew. I'm glad you will keep his memory alive not only by doing this quilt especially for his mother, but by honoring his wish that you be creative!

p.s. looking forward to seeing the quilt!

That is so wonderful of you to offer. I am trying to learn to do free motion on my new machine, but I am not very good at it. I should be finished with it in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to give it to her for the holidays. Is the offer still good? I will be more than happy to pay for shipping. Actually, I have an aunt that lives in Seattle and we are going there again next summer. My husband and two sons have climbed Mt. Rainer twice and my husband wants to try again!!! Please PM me and we can chat. Thanks, again. Lina
