Hello from Venice Italy
Hello everyone - I am an AF wife & Army Vet from Granbury Texas - I was bit by the Quilting Bug about 13 years ago while in Boise Idaho! - I am a crazy Appliquer and currently working on about 9 UFO's including a Dear Jane. Quilting is my sanity while raising 3 kids including 2 teenagers. I teach classes in quilting, go to grad school and quilt - I also work with kids. I also love digi scrapping -
I tend to do multiple blocks of the month because I have no access to fabric here other than the internet. I look forward to chatting! If anyone is ever this way - (Venice) would love to meet up and chat over some AMAZING Italian coffee - |
Hi Nonjay
welcome aboard from Quebec City, Canada. I see that you are a real quilter with so many UFO on your hand! I am sure you will love it here. With what you describe, you sure keep busy! You live in such a beautiful city. I went for a visit in 2008. It would be fun if some members happen to go this year. You could meet with some board members. Have fun! |

Welcome from the wet coast of Canada.
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. How about adding a small patriotic project to celebrate Italy? Or using the Italian colours in one of your current projects? You could incorporate your home state colours as well as any of the places you've been stationed. Just a thought. :) http://www.quiltingboard.com/quiltin...e-t186260.html |
Welcome from SC Texas. So happy you joined us. My DH is retired Army and we spent a lot of years living over seas. I was lucky that our time was spent in Far Eastern country's where beautiful fabric was everywhere. I sure brought back my share. You will find a lot of helpful fun people here.

Welcome!! First off let me say I am jealous of you being in Venice... our oldest daughter went there while in college and lived on the canals ... worked at the palace for college credit.
My husband is an ex air force guy ... and yes I considered myself part of the military while he was in. Jennifer(our daughter) always told me that she had her favorite place to get coffee and gelato.... :) Welcome to our board.. Hugs Quiltinmama do you teach quilting there in Venice? |

Hello Nonjay,
Welcome from Pittsburgh............my husband and I were in Venice in October. We spent 3 wonderful weeks in Italy and absolutely loved it. I would love to get back there some day. I bought a piece of lace in Venice that I put on my granddaughter's Communion Veil that she wore this weekend. I would be happy to send you some fabric, just let me know what colors you are interested in. I am the director of a sewing ministry that provides a garment for women to wear while they are having radiation treatment for breast cancer. We always have a lot of beautiful material left after we cut out the pattern. I buy high quality quilting fabric for the robes and love to see it go to other projects, just let me know. |
