Hiya, Quilties ~ Recently joined and am thrilled to have a place to get together on a regular basis for any and all on quilting, sewing, general chat and great, great recipes. While we have a small group that gets together during the summer/early fall, most are snowbirds (to Florida) and I so miss the comaradery during the winter although I do get a lot of quilting, sewing and pattern development done.

You are each and every one a wealth of information and witty, funny and so caring. I love that you all are such animal lovers. We are, for the first time in our lives (and our 35 year marriage) dogless (usually big, lunky and two or more). We might be traveling some, so we have not adopted any new ones, but I gotta say that we're going through LOTS more empty nesting than we ever did with the four kiddos.

Thanks for being such an active, vibrant group and bless the host of this site for a much needed, all around service. I'm looking forward to spending lots of time here and learning bunches.

Be talkin' atcha!

Oh, yes we are! Our house in Lewis County, right at the adjacent St. Lawrence County line. Send me a PM with names, etc. and, even though we've only been here 8 years, we might be able to do some bush shaking for you.

Welcome from Oklahoma with a Massachusetts accent. So happy you could be here. There is always room for one more quilter.

Sounds pretty where you live. Are you out in the boonies where it is all quiet and peaceful?

Just how far upstate? :) We lived in Geneva and Canandaigua for several years back in the early 90's. Welcome, by the way!

Well, if you find Kingston, Ontario on the map and then come due west about 30 miles, you'll find Harrisville (follow Route 3 north). It's a little village of about 300 families, time warped in the 50s for most intents and purposes. We live near the K-12 school that is boasting a student population of 450. Last year we had the largest graduating class ever: 26 Seniors!

It's a great life and good, clean air. Though the snow lasts most of the winter, it stays pristine white (no pollution). New York is wonderful about keeping their roads plowed and travel is easy. We've only used our 4WD once in 8 years and that was in someone's driveway! We love it here.
