A friend at Project Linus introduced us all to this site and I love it. My grandmother was a quilter, so I was caught up in it as soon as my feet would reach the treadle on her machine. I always sewed a lot but didn't quilt much as an adult until the early 80's. Back then it was cut the pieces out by hand and I did a lot of hand sewing. The first series of classes I took have been so valuable to me though - converting patterns to different sizes, design, lots of things we did before computers.
Now I'm retired so hope to have time to look around in the web site and get involved. Thanks, Jean! |

Welcome from snowy, cold Indiana. I too sat at my Grandmothers knee remembering how she traced out her patterns with pencil and then cut them out. She would be astounded at the progress that has been made.
