I have been quilting since the 70's - muslin, pindot and calicoes! I've seen it all :o. I was away from it for about 10 years and even sold a lot of my quilting fabric, notions, etc. In 2011 my first grandchild was born and that was enough to bring me back - and I love it. Couldn't believe the changes in 10 years ( charm packs, jelly rolls - yes, please!).

Calicoes in the 70s - pindots and muslin in the 80s, plaids and stripes in the 90s ....fun to remember the different trends. I haven't explored the board too much but so far, everyone is so friendly. Where in So. Calif. are you? I lived in Bakersfield for 6 years and there is a wonderful quilt shop there - Strawberry Patches. Do you know it?
