Hello everyone................. I have been addicted to this Quilting Board for over a month. I am so excited with everything that I see and read. I don't know why I have not joined in sooner but now am ready to be a active member.
I started quilting a year ago and have only made a few projects. I will share them later after I learn how to post pictures.
I am so amazed at all the beautiful quilting that I am seeing on the site. It is exciting reading everyone's questions and seeing all the answers that people give each other. How wonderful to have such a great group of new friends I can be with every day.

I am so glad to be part of this group.

Welcome from the central valley of California. My family used to live in Yuma in the late 1940s, my sister and I and some Indian kids all swam the river and played in the old abandoned prison. I'm told it is a tourist target now.

Here you'll find folks from all over the world who have the most amazing talents for art made into warm quilts and decorations.

Welcome from Oregon. My best friends are in Yuma. They visited last year and liked it so well, they sold their home and moved there!!! It's nice and warm there today, isn't it...........

Welcome from Nevada. We visit Yuma every year on our winter vacation. Love the warmer weather in the winter.

Glynda 03-08-2011 08:56 PM

Thank You everyone for your warm welcomes!
And yes it was warm in Yuma today. It was mid 80's with a little breeze. Yesterday we had a terrible wind storm. Due to be mid to high 80's for the rest of the week. You all need to come visit and warm up.
My hometown is San Diego, born and raised there. Moved to the bay area for work in the 90's and after retiring we moved to Wellton, just outside of Yuma. I always refer to where I live as Yuma since people seem to know where that is. If you have not been here you should come, only during the winter though. It is to hot to enjoy during the summer.
We jump in our motorhome and travel during the summer months. Many of our friends are snowbirds and come to Yuma during the winter months.

:P Hello Glynda and Welcome

I'm Sue from Scotland, I'm a Mum to four adult children plus one grandson.

I've been sewing for as long as I remember, and I've tried just about any kind you can think of but I always come back to my biggest loves of all - patchwork and quilting.

You've found a great place here, you'll makes lots of friends that will make you laugh, and help is always on hand if you need it. I hope you enjoy joining in some of the great swaps that are happening all the time.
I've yet to try free-motion, I hope you get round to trying it.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your work.

Bye for now,
Stay Happy!
Sue (aka rummage)

Hi from southeastern AZ. Our grandson lives in Yuma and we visited him just after Christmas. I was able to get to two quilt shops while there. One we checked out on December 31st. Lots of dollars off. I spent around $50. Always have to visit the LQS where ever we travel.

This is already so much fun now that I have joined the group. I am fortunate to have so many new friends from around our beautiful country and foreign countries.
I went to town yesterday and spent way to much money on more projects and only went to get backing for my existing project.
Picture will be coming soon.............
Thank You again for all your warm Welcomes!
