Is this how I introduce myself? I am teaching myself how to quilt. My dear mother in law is lending me her Singer Featherweight for my endeavor. I understand that I can piece with it, but can I quilt with it? I look forward to your advice!

Hi, Annalee, and welcome! :D Glad you're here! Yes, indeed, you can quilt with a Singer Featherweight, I've heard others here doing it as well. So hop right in and enjoy yourself here!

Please let me know how to quilt on this beautiful machine. Do I need a special foot? Where do I look for advice?

skpkatydid 02-23-2010 10:31 PM

Hello and Welcome from Denver, CO. I would think that you could do any straight line or stitch in the ditch quilting with the featherweight without the need of a special foot.

Hi Annalee. You have the same name as my daughter. Such a pretty dainty name (I think). Glad you are with us. I am very new to quilting and have been trying to teach myself, but I am thinking about taking a quilting class this summer.
Glad you are here,
Scherrie
