I am new to quilting but would like to make a duvet. A simple square x square for a king bed (about 95x110 ...square patterned for the top of the bed with a solid overhang to cover just below the skirt line). I would like 1 patch to be a dark brick, 1 patch to be a chocolate brown, 1 patch to be cream, 1 patch maybe a green or blue or gold....something along those lines... Native American colors. I would like different patterns paisley, stripes, small floral some solid or even small patterns..... I don't know how many colors would be good or how to put colors together..I see the duvet in my minds eye, but cannot find the right combination of colors or materials in the stores. PLease help...

I know I am asking alot but had heard you may be able to.

Thanks for your time

Welcome to the board from Louisiana! Some quilters use graph paper and color pencils to put their concept into pattern and color. Maybe this can give you a place to start.
