I am new to quilting and unsure of what to do about the borders on this one. I am making it for a friend and when I showed her the main part she said she liked the lay out but would like more primary colors to be use in the borders, if possible. This is what I came up with--- any suggestions???

Don't know if I'm seeing the "true colors" on my monitor but here is my two cents worth. If she wants primary, how about the blue you have followed by yellow instead of the light, ending with a red that complements the colors you have already. Very cute quilt and I see primary colors in the pictures she has.
And, welcome to the board-I'm sure you'll get lots of opinions and ideas as more people see your post. Good Luck.

I agree those colors don't go...sorry...need to stay in the color catagories of the main portion of quilt you have but just go a bit darker...

It's hard to tell your colors by this picture - but if primary colors she wants I'd choose crayon colors red, blue & yellow.

I would use the color you have of the diamonds for the first border,(very narrow) then yellow and red.

Welcome from Dayton Oregon! Love the colors you've used, not sure about adding primary colors to a lovely quilt of secondary and tirtiary (sp?) colors. What you've created is clear and rich in the colors you've chosen. Good luck with this. :)
