I will have to try that. I think I still have a couple of bars of soap left. I don't use them in the shower anymore, prefer the shower gels. I think I will wrap the bar in a pretty fabric scrap and stitch it closed to make it more decorative. Maybe even add some trim. You may have started a new fad.

My mother taught me to use soap for diaper pins to keep them sharp and smooth. I stopped doing this when my children grew. What a great idea for quilting pins.

Wow, 10 years; that's a long time. I'm sure mine would be all bent out of shape by then. Have to try your recommendation. Oh, and welcome aboard!!
