I have a question to all of you. I am looking to get a new steam iron and was wondering everyone's thoughts on brand quality. Am leaning toward the Rowenta. I have been reading customer reviews and they are scaring me' Talking about leaking and life span any thoughts? Thanks

Welcome from Alabama. I have heard alot of the same. I use a cheap one from Walmart but I never put in water. I have a spray bottle with water in it for when I need steam. They last so much longer. I also have a spare iron in the closet, I think that helps them last even longer. Irons only go out in the middle of the night for me.

I had a bad experience with Rowenta. I use inexpensive from Walmart and a spray bottle of water:)

Hello and welcome from SW FL. I use a cheap iron picked up at at garage sale for $1.00. Works fine for dry or steam.

Welcome from Live oak Texas. I have had a rowenta for years and never had any problems with it.

Welcome from NM. You will get good and bad reviews for the Rowenta. I've had three, 2 leaked and I followed all manufacturers instructions. If and when the 3rd on goes I won't buy another Rowenta. Why did I get others after the first one leaked--found them new at Tuesday Morning and Big Lots at a great discount price. Also hate that it shuts off if left unused for a few minutes--have to wait for it to heat up again to press seams. I know this is a safety feature but still...
