Just wanted to say hello and to apologize in advance for not knowing a whole lot about quilting except that I like it and want to learn more. My name is Wendi, I am 21, and 35 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. Her name is Rylynn Laura.
She is the reason quilting has become a slight hobby of mine, because I've been on partial bed rest since 32 weeks and am not able to do many things except sit with my laptop on the couch or convince the boyfriend to drag to card table over to me so that I can sew.
Anyway, I have finished the top for my baby's first blanket (well, from me, made with love... and some tears...) and am a little unsure of where to go from here. My mom seems to know what we need to do... but she's never made a quilt either :D

If anyone has any tips, I will be very very appreciative!

Welcome from southern California and congrats on your little one on the way. I was on bed rest for my first baby too. Hope everything goes well! Quilting is a great hobby, this is a great place to meet other quilters and get lots of help and ideas.

Welcome from Louisiana. You have picked the right spot to get all the help you want....and all the love that comes with it. Take care of yourself and enjoy the rest. My mother and my great granddaughter were both born on November 24th. Mom will be 91 and Emma will be 5. Keep us posted on your progress. Happy stitching.

Hi Wendy and congrats on your soon to come baby girl. So glad you join, you will learn a lot with us and thank you for allowing us to be part of your baby's birth. Sow us pics of your quilt, yourself and of course the baby when she comes. We love pics.

Now you make your "sandwich". Top, batting, backing. Either machine or hand quilt, or tie it with embroidery floss. Afterwards, bind the edges. You're done. Congrats on your baby and quilt.

Hi Wendi and welcome to the board. Sounds like your baby quilt is coming right along and will be finished before Rylynn's birth. Congrats and keep us posted.
