New to the site, but old as dirt.

I realy admire those who can do the fine detailed quuilting, but I finally realized that was never going to be my strong suit.

My favorite quilt to make is a tufted (tied) baby quilt. They go fast, there's a limitless supply of basic paterns and they always get loads of use, which makes me feel good.

I'm hoping this site will help me keep the creative juices flowing.

Well, I'm definitely an inDUHvidual. Totally forgot to mention:

Hiding out in Hopewell, (just south of Richmond) VA.
1 Girl Child, (Sherriff's Deputy in Norfolk)
Hubby (known as "Hey You" around my house), almost housebroken after 37 years.
No grands, but great neices/nephews are starting to pop.
Still working full time (office clerk) but dreaming of retirement.
And as for old, let's just say I've got wrinkles older than most of the folks I work with.

HEHEHEHEHEH

Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Beckio,

Sorry to ignore you, but please extend my thanks and gratitude to your daughter! I really appreciate what she and her fellow Deputy's and Peace officer's do!

Any time I see an officer and s/he is not busy, AND I work up the nerve, I thank them. Always, "You're welcome." Sometimes added, "What for?"

I can imagine they do not hear that much!

Thank you soooo much. I passed your message on to the girl child and her cronies.

It's always nice to know you're appreciated.

I've spent a lot of time the last couple of days looking at the awesome pictures on this forum.

Keeps me inspired.

Now it's time to not ignore you and take the opportunity to thank YOU for raising a daughter who is willing to go into the "Protect and Serve" field.

Perhaps you, your daughter and/or her cronies would find this an amusing story.

One of my earliest memories involves the police. It was getting dark, and my twin sister Dawn, and younger sister Renee, were at the local park, having a good ole time when a man with a German Shepard advised we'd better hurry home or the wolf would get us!

Rather than take any chances, we scampered up to the top of a rocket-shaped slide for safety. It soon got cold, and we worried about our shoes and socks at the bottom of the slide, but agreed that we'd rather the wolf fill up on those than us.

Soon after dark we were fascinated to see a flashing red light headed our way across the grassy field. When the police got out, we hollered for them to be to get back in their car and not let the wolf get them. (I must interject here that they were probably stunned by this, as there are NO wolves nearby, but took it in stride.) They assured us that they would not let the wolf get them or us, and to come on down.

The next day we realized we had forgotten our tricycles, but found out the police made sure those got home too.

Any wonder I have just the teensiest bit of hero worship for those who serve us?

We lived in Hopewell for two years in the mid 70's. Sure is a pretty part of the country.

Welcome!
