Welcome aboard from Lowell, formerly NH. I too learned to sew from my Mom, and made lots of my own clothes before, during and after high school and college. My Mom made quilts, and sandwiched them with old blankets and I believe she tied them, but I don't think she made many while I was growing up and i was the youngest. Too bad too, I would have loved to have her teach me. I am pretty much self-taught, but then I finally found a quilt class and a quilt guild, so I've learned a lot in the over 25 plus years that I have been quilting.
