Hi, I am a quilter from Brunswick Ohio and I am looking for an onlline quilting buddy or someone who lives in my area and would like to get together to quilt or shop at quilt stores. I also need ideas for a wedding quilt for my daughter who is getting married next year other than the traditional double wedding ring.

Hi and welcome from MA.

Hello,

I'm sure you'll find a buddy soon, everyone here is lovely and very helpful.

As for an idea for a wedding quilt- how about one with heart shapes on? There are plenty of designs here:- http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/Qu...ltPatterns.htm

brunswick gal 06-06-2010 12:37 PM

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I really appreciate it.

brunswick gal 06-06-2010 12:38 PM

Thanks Ann, love your cathedral window.

I work full time too, and haven't done much quilting in the past few years. I've been inspired by reading the Quilters Apprentice series and now I am determined to get back to it.

It's south of Cleveland. My daughter ( the one who is getting married ) lives in Kettering and went to UD. One of my best friends lives in Waynesville. Have you heard of the Fabric Shack?

Debbie B 06-06-2010 12:45 PM

Yes, I've been to the Fabric Shack a few times, but not in a while. We go to Waynesville a couple times a year and always go to the Sauerkraut Festival. Kettering is just south of us. About 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. I have several friends that live in Kettering.

I always get into trouble at the Fabric Shack.

Debbie B 06-06-2010 12:51 PM

It's a fun place to go. The Fabric Shack has a lot of fabric. I like Waynesville's town, too. It's fun to make a day of it with friends and go to the antique and gift shops.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!

You can use any pattern you want to and just use her favorite colors or the colors she plans to decorate the house in.

Is it a surprise? If not let her pick out a pattern (that you give her a choice of) and let her pick out a couple of the fabrics (you pick the rest)

Hello and welcome from another fellow Ohioan. I live in Akron. Not sure where Brunswick is. Hear it on the news, but I'm not a native, so not that familiar with what's around.

brunswick gal 06-08-2010 11:42 PM

Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Welcome from Michigan.

Marlys 06-09-2010 06:27 AM

I'm not from Ohio, but my DD will be attending Kent State starting this fall. I will be driving her out there the last week of August. It would be fun to go to some of the LQS with someone who knows the area. So if anyone in the area is available . . .
