Ginny from Western Mass pointed this board out to me, and I must admit, I like what I see! It looks like a great bunch of people here, all of whom love quilting.
I've been quilting since 1991 and sewing since I was in grade school thanks to my grandma, who was a professional seamstress. For years, I made almost everything I wore. I take sewing and quilting classes whenever I can.
Ninety-five percent of the quilts I've made in the last 13 years have gone to homeless families in shelters. When I deliver the next bunch in a few days, my total will be 349 quilts. Most of those are adult-sized quilts. They take from 70 to 150 hours each, on average. For ten years, I did this project with occasional help from others and now I belong to the Heartstrings Quilt Project, which donates quilts all over the world.
I also have a strong interest in vintage sewing machines and am a certified sewing machine mechanic. (In my non-sewing life, I am an engineer.)
