Value can be tricky...think of a Bargello (sp???) quilt and you can see how value is demonstrated more clearly. It's what gets put out from the fabric -

Hello from Western Australia....I use red cellophane but I spoke to someone recently and they actually find it easier to photocopy the fabric. Not sure about that one! Try your local library...they are bound to have some books about value.
