Hi from Florida
I've been sewing for at least 50 years. The past 15 years I've been making art dolls. I entered the Hoffman Challenge many years ago with a doll but didn't win. I decided to change direction and go into quilting. I made my first quilt a couple weeks ago...just a small wall hanging. I'm proud of what I did but I sure do need to learn a lot more. I recently purchased a new Brother sewing machine and am still trying to figure out how everything works. I will officially retire the 1st of January and will have a lot more time to play. Who knows, maybe in the future when I get better I can enter the Hoffman Challenge with a quilt. I dream big! :)

Welcome FLA!! Keep on dreaming!! I have a brother machine, but it is the $99 Walmart one--I love the machine and it has taken a beating for over 5 years and is still going! I too have a lot of "play" time, since I went out on disability...Quilting has saved my sanity! You will enjoy this board. They are so helpful and friendly!
