the second is a second quilt my dad made using thangles. i was trying to get hin to do HST were still working on them but since I'm in Missouri and they are in Minnesota its a challenge. but I am very proud to have a dad that quilts!! Now I just need to get my husband quilting, but his support is AWESOME!!! |
Welcome! I do hope you try your hand at a few blocks and see what happens! I'm lucky my DH is patient with my hobby, but he is very colorblind and can't fully appreciate the patterns created by blocks and the various fabrics. But he's willing to let me choose any colors I want to decorate! How great that you can help with selecting fabrics. Let us see your first project!

Welcome. Its great have a "quilting supporter" amoungst us. Just an FYI the fastest growing section of quilters is men. Two years in a row at the International Quilt Festival in Chicago the Best of show ribbon/prize went to a man.

Hi Husband and welcome from nearby northern Delaware.
I chuckled when you said nursie could see a quilt shop anywhere you went. We were in California last week (unfortunately for DH sister's funeral), but had a few hours free and went to a Quilt shop - where else. I have been looking for a print related to camping, and actually found 2 different ones and they happened to be having a 20% off sale to boot. Can't beat that, so keep goin to those out of the way shops. |

I read in a FL paper about a hubby who helped his wife sandwich her quilts. When she passed away he decided to finish her unfinished one in her honor so he went to her weekly quilting group meeting to learn how. He has since made 16 quilts start to finish. Don't wait until it's too late; enjoy this new hobby together. My hubby isn't interested, but lets me spend as much time doing it as I like without a complaint. The worst I've ever heard is, "I'm getting a little hungry, shall I fix us something or are you going to?"
And I can't complain about that! |
