Hi Diane! :) Welcome from Minnesota!

If you've never made a quilt, I would suggest finding a class for beginners at a local quilt shop (LQS). I learned so much at my first class ... I made a Rail Fence quilt.

Hi Susienc and welcome from South Dakota. My parents used to live in Hertford, NC/ so now I am missing the south. What is a Hellebor plant? Good to have you. You need to find a pattern that is easy, check out quilters cache and look for an easy pattern. I am just starting to try stars/ I started by doing the block swap each month. Good luck, You will be hooed very soon. Blessings

welcome from Michigan. I think taking a class locally is the best way to start. Also I would say that I would not buy so much until I was actually quilting away. I have a lot of things I will never use. Perhaps I will list some for sale.
