My daughter introduceded your blog to me while we were having a vacation in the mtns of NC. Guess what, we were up there for two weeks , she finished three projects our friend finished quilting a quilt for her mother for Christmas (turning twenty) and I took three bags of scraps with me and made over 60 pads, blankets, an quilts for the local SPCA. What a rewarding way to use up all my quilts knowing that some little puppy or kitty will have a nice blanket to sleep on this winter.
I still have some fabric scraps left , but hope I can do a few more. hope to hear from anyone that has similar projects to use their scraps. |

I am always open to visiting and meeting new friends, anytime just send me a chat note. Love to hear from you and news of what your projects are for the holidays. I am still finishing up my blankets for the SPCA , I have been practicing my quitling skills on these blankets hoping to improve enough to quilt on a quilt that I have finished except for that part. I am practicing leaves, they seemed to be the most easy for a beginner like me. Of course I see many designs I want to do, so will try them all. I think it is all in getting your speed when doing this

I love the picture of your dog, I am sure she is your companion in the sewing room like my little fellow is, I also have a cat that likes to get on what ever I am sewing at the time, (hard to move the material along with him sitting on it) . Haven't started any christmas projects yet, well, take that back , am making a "orange peel" quilt for a friend. It will be a lap size. I love this pattern as you do everything at one time, no having to go back and than quilt.

yes, we all did, it was a nice time and I am so pleased at what I accomplished this year for the SPCA. I try to do something every year for them, as I could never go out there and work. It would be so hard to be with all those animals and not see them get a good home to go to. If people could just realize the love one of these little fellows can give, it is so unconditional.
Have you started any Christmas projects yet? I only have one in the making so far, and hope to finish it in a couple weeks. |
Welcome from Tennessee! I'll bet you will get lots of great ideas here.
