I've been coming here since mid Oct., but never filled out this part. I've been making quilts for 10 years, but sewn clothing, camping gear, Home Dec projects all my life. My Mom taught me to sew when I was just a child - made doll clothes. I even knit my Barbie a yellow bikini!
I really enjoy many of the topics and have gone places I never knew about, thru links.
This is a wonderful site to gain new knowledge and have some laughs too.

hello and welcome from the freezing cold Twin Cities! Where are you located? There are actually quite a few of us Minnesotans on here!

I live in St. Cloud, but grew up in St. Louis Park. We generally get the weather before you but sometimes not or you have more snow or we do. Our temps. are usually colder tho.

I grew up just south west of St Cloud, right by Buffalo. St Cloud was where we went and did our "major" shopping. I want to get up there to the "Craft Direct" store or whatever it is called! :) I've heard it is huge, but don't know if they carry fabric.

Yes, they (Craft's Direct) do have fabric, but if you get to St. Cloud, the quilt fabric shop you must go to is Gruber's. On the intersection of Hiway 15 and 3rd St. North ( the NW corner). It's the largest shop in central MN, I think. It's just awesome and they have yarn too if you're into crochet or knitting.
